Big news for bank customers! Bank Name Changed: RBI has changed the name of this bank, check update before visiting branch

New Delhi, 23 May 2025: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially changed the name of North East Small Finance Bank Limited to Slice Small Finance Bank Limited. The RBI notified the name change on May 21, following a notification dated May 14, 2025, and its publication in the Gazette of India on May 16, 2025.

With this, Slice Small Finance Bank Limited continues to be listed as a scheduled bank under the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.

Slice’s founder and executive director, Rajan Bajaj, confirmed the same and shared the official notification on his social media platform, X.

The name change will not directly or indirectly affect existing customers. According to media reports, passbooks, checkbooks, debit cards, and IFSC codes will remain as same as it was. So, you can continue banking as usual without visiting the branch.

However, customers are advised to stay updated with any official communication from the bank. If Slice Small Finance Bank announces new update or changes, make sure to follow the bank’s official communications. For any need, please visit your nearest branch or do the task through net banking.
