Telangana Grameena Bank appoints K. Prathapa Reddy as their new Chairman

New Delhi, 30 May 2025: Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB) has appointed its new Chairman, K. Prathapa Reddy. Mr reddy is a professional banker with over two decades of experience at the State Bank of India (SBI). The appointment was officially confirmed by the bank in a press release on Friday.

51 years old Reddy joing TGB following the tenure of Y. Sobha, and will be in TGB for the next three years. Before this, he served as Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank (APGVB), which was recently merged with TGB to streamline operations in the Telangana state.

Throughout his banking career, Reddy has managed crucial positions in the banking sector, including SBI’s Agriculture Development Branch and Retail Assets Centralised Processing Centre in Hyderabad. His expertise in operational management, commercial credit, and administrative leadership.

As of March 31, 2025, the bank has reported an impressive net profit of ₹675 crore with a capital adequacy ratio of 25.42%, positioning it as India’s most profitable RRB.
