OYO sets new Record: Becomes India’s Most Profitable Startup in FY25
Ritesh’s OYO sets new record as India’s most profitable startup in the FY25, posting a reporting ₹623 crore profit after tax (PAT). This is a 172% increase from the previous fiscal year, making its position as a leading business in travel-tech industry.
The company’s adjusted EBITDA surged to ₹1,132 crore, reflecting a 27% year-on-year growth. This milestone also marks OYO’s tenth consecutive quarter of EBITDA profitability, showcasing its sustained financial discipline and strategic execution.
OYO’s Gross Booking Value (GBV) skyrocketed by 54%, reaching ₹16,436 crore, while its revenue raised to ₹6,463 crore, a 20% increase year-over-year. The company cited this success to its premium offerings, including Townhouse Hotels and Sunday Hotels, which have gained traction across India, the UK, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
The fourth quarter of FY25 was particularly impressive, with OYO’s GBV touching ₹6,379 crore, marking a 126% increase compared to the same period in FY24. Revenue for Q4 stood at ₹1,872 crore, up 41% year-over-year, while adjusted EBITDA surged by 61% to ₹442 crore.
OYO’s global expansion strategy has played a crucial role in its profitiblity. Over the past year, the company launched 30 new Sunday Hotels across India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Southeast Asia, further strengthening its foothold in the hospitality sector. With a presence of 22,700 hotels, 1,19,900 homes, and 91,300 listings, OYO continues to set new records the travel-tech landscape.
Founder Ritesh Agarwal marked FY25 as a historic year, focusing the company’s commitment to sustainable profitability and global expansion. As OYO continues its growth story, industry analysts speculate that the startup may soon explore public listing or raise additional funding.
